Microchipping is currently the primary method of identifying animals. The chip, a subcutaneous implant, gives the pet a unique number, which can then be registered in a dedicated database and assigned to the owner’s details.
In the event of a missing pet, a microchip allows for easy identification and significantly increases the chance of quickly locating its owner.
Microchipping is also required for international travel and is required to obtain an EU passport.
Although microchipping is not yet mandatory in Poland, it is a way to ensure your pet’s safety.
